The picturesque little temple town of Pushkar, 13 killometers Northeast of Ajmer in the state of Rajasthan. Pushkar is one of the holiest centers of Hinduism. Pushkar have nearly five hundred temples large and small and fifty palaces and 52 bathing ghats.
Each year, it is the site of an amazingly colourful camel fair also known as (Camel Fair Pushkar, Pushkar Cattle Fair, Pushkar ka Mela). Pushkar Fair is one of the world's largest camel fairs. Apart from buying and selling of livestock it has become an important tourist attraction and its highlights have become competitions such as the "matka phod", "longest moustache", "bridal competition" and "camel Race" are the main draws for this fair which attracts thousands of tourists. Pushkar Fair take place on the banks of the Pushkar Lake and it is the annual five-day camel and livestock fair.
